B&O and MP boxcars in Louisiana, MO From Bill Hirt: The B&O car is a repaint, series 271500-272499 XM. 40' Steel 1923 ARA Proposed Standard Box w/6' Door Opening. ARA Car Builder Sliding Door. Class M-26c. Built 1928 by Baltimore Car & Foundry. IH 8' 7". Series #271500-272499. Photo in B&O Color Guide on p63. Photos in Railway Prototype Cyclopedia Volume 18 on p64 p73 & p75. The MP car is from MP series 47000-47999 built 1925 by ACF. These cars were rebuilt by MP to steel boxcars in the same series in the early 1950s.
